American Outdoorsman for Women make some of my favorite sun shirts. Fabric is soft, cool and stretchy. I wear sun shirts all summer long pretty much daily for everything from walking or kayaking to yardwork or just enjoying lunch out on the patio (My skin is extremely sun sensitive). I like that their sleeves tend to be longer and roomier than most brands, so much more comfortable if you have a thicker upper arm, and length provides better protection for wrists and hands. I think their sizing runs small, or is based on a very fitted fit. I am usually a size medium/8 on top (34C, 29 inch waist) with hourglass shape but in this brand I am most comfortable in an XL top. (XL measures 19.5 inches from pit to pit). It still looks nice and like an appropriate fit, but just a little extra room for air circulation and movement. I don't want my clothes to be too form fitting when it is hot and humid. If I were doing something like swimming, surfing or body boarding I would size down to a large, but for everyday sun protection, I prefer the XL. I got this top in all 3 colors (papaya, seafoam and quiet gray) and they are all lovely.
