5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent, strong mid-sized duffelReviewed by Panoguy from DC on Wednesday, September 4, 2024Took this 60L Fjallfard to Iceland for a 2 week trip, and it excelled at the airports, the bus station, the campervan, and the one hotel we stayed at. The bag is very ruggedly built, with heavy nylon cloth, oversized zippers, solid metal slides and clasps, and lots of convenient features that take it beyond a simple duffel like the kind you might take to the gym. The backpack straps detach from one side and slide into velcro-closed slots on the top, there are handles on all 4 corners as well. One end has a "boot pocket" that unzops from the outside, and stays separate from anything in the main interior. I could fit my large men's hiking boots in there, no problem. The interior is about 60L, which isn't huge, but has 2 zippered mini compartments by the main opening, and it opens wide. Once full, if you can zip the top, there are compression straps(!) to pack it even further down. It survived being tossed around Dulles, Keflavik, and Schipol, as well as stuffed under the seat of a campervan for weeks with the top open to get at things inside. Perfect for multi-stop travel if you are okay with carrying it on your back instead of wheeling it around. Perfect for the highlands of Iceland, in that case.
