2.0 out of 5 stars. Buyer Beware

1)The Keen Howser Fold Down runs very small. I am a consistent 7.5 in shoes but read elsewhere to size up. I bought the size 8.Can only use with thin sock.
2)Entry is difficult. I had to use a shoe horn to get on.
3)The insole of one of the shoes feels off.
The only positive for this shoe is the sole. Well crafted Keen sole. I am keeping only because it is expensive to return.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Flawed Design

I wanted slip-on slipper/shoe which covered my ankles. As other reviewers commented, it is very challenging to get the shoes on without a shoe horn due to the constricting angle created by the inflexible back of the shoe and a strong seam in the front. I have broken down the back by wearing it as a slipper, so my heel crushed the back of the shoe a bit, so now I can pull each shoe on with my two hands. I have narrow feet, so once the shoe is on, the right shoe fits so-so (they are a bit wide for me). While my right foot slips forward a bit, the left shoe is shaped differently, so my left foot slips forward and jams my toes They are not very warm and can accommodate thin socks only. I don't know which shape of foot this shoe would fit. The concept for the shoe seems good: the execution is a failure.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Cute, but fit oddly

I ordered these for a slip on to run to the store or mailbox. I cannot get them on without a shoe horn and even then it is very difficult. I do not have wide or fat feet and these are extremely tight across the top of my foot. The back dips so low that it barely covers my heel and does not provide any warmth for the ankle area. I would not want to order up a size as they would be too long. They are cute, but have a very odd fit. They would be much better suited for a slipper if they weren't so hard to get on. Sadly, I am probably going to return them. I wish there was a way to return them to Sierra without the high shipping fees.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
