  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Protection From Abrasion and Damage
Reviewed by Mr. Cong from East Orange/ Glen Ridge, NJ on Friday, August 30, 2024
This dry bag is being used as a carrier/protector for both a Gore-Tex outer jacket and a down inner jacket, neither of which are used on a daily basis. However, when needed, they can be a virtual lifesaver, and are therefore stowed in my vehicle until that time comes. Her in the Northeast, that time is typically in the winter BUT we have had soaking downpours in the spring and summer months, and their presents is a necessity year around. Simply tossed into the rear of any vehicle without protection is begging for damage to these garments ( acute equipment ), but this rugged dry bag prevents that with a virtual vengeance, at a price that can not be ignored. Another is being ordered before they are out of stock at this excellent price.
This dry bag rates a ' 10 ' for construction, function and materials, or 5 full stars.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Absolutely NOT Waterproof

I would prefer to give this item zero stars. It is not even a little bit waterproof. The two zippers have no way to lock together and leave a gap. Sierra won't take this back because I de-tagged and used it.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Underwhelming and underengineered.

The bag feels like it would be good quality, but the zipper system didn't live up to the "waterproof" claim. It was never even submerged, but still collected water in the back tray of my sit-on kayak.

It calls itself a waist bag, but the strap design looks more like a sling style. There is no buckle, making it annoying for wearing around the waist. If you try to wear it like a sling, either the pad for the shoulder is upside down or the words "DRY GEAR" are upside down.

More of a waste bag than a waist bag.
