Great pet bedReviewed by Clark's wife from Wisconsin on Thursday, May 18, 2023The term "floating" refers to a small rim around the base that raises the main platform about an inch, creating a little layer of circulation. As a pet bed, (large long cats) it is perfect. The air space also keeps the cats from laying on a hard surface. I layer it with breathable wool blanket, and a small pet heating pad (K&H pad only heats to safe temp for pets). I also use these baskets inverted as window seats for a small set of ventilation windows below a large picture window, which brings the cats to the perfect height. That being said, the baskets are sturdy, large enough for two kitties to snuggle. I purchased three of these a few years ago, they have held up beautifully, and I was happy to find they were back in stock.
