5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice form factor change from the usual cylindrical stuff sacksReviewed by Outer Avenues from San Francisco on Tuesday, December 10, 2024First, note that Sierra's description incorrectly states that this sack has a zipper. It does not. Osprey evidently made an older model of this sack with both the zippers and the compression straps. But the updated/current model does not have a zipper. I was hopeful that Sierra was selling closeout versions of the old model. I was surprised that despite the lack of a zipper, this sack really closes without difficulty. I was super skeptical. This version seems far too small to hold my non-down sleeping bag. But I got it in there with less difficulty than the round stuff sack I have. The side opening is larger, which helped. And then the three straps were easy enough to buckle. I like the carry handle on the side also. I think the flatter and more rectangular shape of this sack, when full, makes this far more practical to pack along with other items than the cylindrical shape. I'm excited to try the 8L size on clothes. I do think the wider opening may make things prone to spilling out of the sack, but for certain applications, I think the ease of packing outweighs that potential downfall.
