Great for bouldering and gym climbing, Scarpa's Instinct SR climbing shoes are crafted from lightweight unlined microsuede with a stretch-reducing reinforced elastic band insert and a sticky, durable Vibram® XS Grip 2® rubber outsole. They also boast a downturned last and medium asymmetrical curvature for day-long comfort and performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent shoeReviewed by Shaun.climbs from NJ on Tuesday, June 27, 2023I've has multiple pairs of Scarpa climbing shoes and these are my absolute favorites. The slipper style had me hesitant at first, but once you put them on, they fit snug and apply equal pressure all throughout your foot as opposed to a velcro or lace shoe. They are on the softer side, so while they're not the best at slab work, they are very capable and excel at every other type of bouldering. Heel and toe hooks are confidently accomplished, and I've only just scratched the surface of their true capability.
These shoes can easily be used as a beginner shoe for the comfort all the way up to an high intermediate/advanced shoe for veteran climbers.
