5.0 out of 5 stars. Save your head wear protectionReviewed by Fat sally from Virginia on Thursday, March 16, 2023While i previously did not own a helmet my husband has an old protec helmet that he would rarely wear. Mostly he wore it when biking with alone on off road trails. Not only is it heavy, it is a white hard shell that looks gross dirty and very dated. Occasionally when I would ride alone he would remind me that i was more than welcomed to wear his helmet. On one occasion in the fall when there were lots of wet leaves on the ground i did end up wearing it for some additional protection. My husband saw me with it when i got home and asked why i did not just buy one adding he would not expect me to Wear it all the time. It was actually nice peace of mind when i had his on however it was of poor fit and I was terrified that was the way all helmets fit and did not pursue getting one of my own. I Just saw the smith express in mat merlot (pink) and bought a medium. At first i left it at home when i rode. Finally i worked up the nerve wore it on a ride, It had an awesome fit and i was really happy with the number of vents and how light it was. Darn it is so well vented light and comfortable you dont even know you have it on. Yesterday we decided on an all day ride and i said that I would wear my new helmet of course my husband wore his. Halfway through he asked …no begged me to try my helmet he immediately mentioned how nice it was compared to his ancient helmet. When we switched back he only wore his helmet briefly before removing it and hanging it on the hande bars and announcing he wanted a new helmet too.
