My wife, the nurse, is always worried about our safety and makes sure we have snacks and hydration. My wife also bought a smith trace helmet a few years ago and has never worn it. She always says she is a very careful cyclist. Occasionally when I will head out on a solo ride she will say ‘you need to be extra careful because you don’t own a helmet like me and i am not there to worry about you”. That last time she also added “you know you can wear my helmet since there will be lots of wet leaves.” I laughed and thought that it was not a bad idea i agreed. She hurriedly got the helmet and helped me get it fitted. The medium helmet fit my normal male head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap and set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual. When i was done my wife asked what I thought. I told her i liked it and was considering my own. She seemed surprised and giddily excitedly that i was being safe. She also told me i was more than welcome to wear it on any ride.
