The Fjallraven story started more than 60 years ago when a 14-year old named Ake Nordin began trekking in the mountains of his native northern Sweden. Eventually, Ake started to notice the backpacks of the time didn't bear loads well, and decided to build his own. Within a decade, Ake was creating backpacks under the name Fjallraven, which translates to Arctic Fox in Swedish. Today, Fjallraven backpacks, jackets, fleece and outdoor apparel are helping people discover and enjoy the great outdoors all over the world. I have managed to get a few varitations of F-raven pats and wool shirts via here and other vendors (always on sale/coupon". some of my favorite clothes, and I love feeling like a nordic bushcrafting commando at the same time ;)
FIT: MY weight fluctuaties. THis is euro sizing. if you wear a Walmart jeans 34, these will be so snug you will need to lose 10-20 lbs and tone up your pudgy american extremeties. (I had to).... but if available just go up a size or two until you find your fit, hard to do when you are bargain hunting. -

It holds a lot, is waterproof and comfortable. You can even strap a jacket below with the cinch straps. I am glad I took a chance. These sell on the Fjallraven website for at least double the price. The light colored lining is a nice touch.
