3.0 out of 5 stars. run small and other thingsReviewed by never enough footwear from Pennnsylvania on Monday, October 2, 2023First, I wear 11.5, a size I rarely can get and usually buy 12s which are usually a little big and I have to do some adjustments to make them work. These 12s are short, my toes touch the ends, making them more like 11s. I don't know if this carries throughout the size range, but it's worth bearing in mind.
Second, some details are not to my liking: if you look at the photo showing the top of the shoe, the toe nubuck goes up to catch the bottom of the lace elastic. It looks a little off-center and when I put the shoes on, this gets accentuated. The nubuck and knit fabric are soft but the instep/vamp area is a little chunky and not particularly flattering. The insole is cushiony but there's little arch support. Not nothing, but not much. They smell a bit out of the box, like a sweet synthetic kind of smell. I expect it'll fade, but it's noticeable now.
FYI, the elastic in the heel does allow some adjustment. The heel is comfortable out of the box, but may be adjusted to grip more if desired. An interesting option. Also, the stitching is neat and there is no air of cheapness.
