5.0 out of 5 stars. Great helmetReviewed by Daria pheobe from Rhode island on Thursday, January 25, 2024In our family no one wears helmet. My husband and I have talked about them, but never saw a convincing reason to get them. However a few months ago out of the clear blue my husband bought an orange smith engage helmet. I was surprised and he said sometimes he just wanted to wear a helmet. He does not wear it much other than occasionally on a solo ride, he did state that he liked it and it felt safe. One day I asked if i could try it and he said sure. It was not what I expected. It was light airy and kept my hair up out of my face. In addition it gave me confidence and helped me feel safe. Every since then i have been looking for a helmet for myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Wonderful helmetReviewed by Don waonnagt from Rural Virginia on Saturday, January 20, 2024When my wife and i started biking a lot more often a few years back her parents brought over some bike stuff including my wife old helmet. The wife told me she wasn’t going to wear the helmet and that was fine with me since i did not wear one. the helmet and everything else ended up on a shelf in the garage. One or twice she when I would ride alone she would remind me that i was more than welcomed to wear the helmet if i wanted. i never took her up on the offer, however last December i was planning an all day sole ride and she asked if I would wear the helmet. When i seemed less than enthusiastic she suggested maybe i just put it in my bag in case i changed my mind. Since my bag had a mesh pouch on the rear i agreed. I was surprised when she handed me the helmet to find it was a hard shell bell helmet from the 1990’s but i put it in my bag and left. Two hours in iT started to rain lightly and since i had been pushing my comfort zone and riding hard i decided to put it on for some extra protection and of course i sent my wife a selfie. While It was actually nice peace of mind, it was hot and of poor fit and I was afraid all helmets would be similar.
when i got home, my wife asked what i thought and i told her it was not comfortable. She asked why i did not just buy one, adding that she would not expect me to wear it. I started looking and hound a smith persist in orange so i ordered it in large. When it came I tried it on and was really impressed with how light it was and how well it fit. Yesterday the wife and I decided to take a ride the wife asked if i would be wearing my new helmet. I had not thought about it but decided that I would. She of course grabbed her old helmet. On the ride, It had such an awesome fit, was so well vented, light and comfortable I forgot i had it on until my wife reminded me. After a while she asked …no insisted on trying my helmet . After she put it on, she just kept mentioning how nice it was. When I asked for it back she said “no” and said she was getting a new helmet as well. If you have questions I would suggest you talk to my wife. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Moms pick for safetyReviewed by Safety mom well sorta from Charleston wv on Sunday, January 14, 2024Our family bike rides consist of casual trail journeys with my husband and teenage sons where my husband occasionally wears his helmet but the boys do not (they are tough guys). I used to always wear my helmet but a few years ago it went mia and withe the poor influence of my sons I decided a helmet was unnecessary and never looked to find or replace it. Recently I stated riding several times a week for fitness and my treks became longer and faster. I realized as i was frequently hitting 20mph that I should probably start wearing a helmet again. On my next ride i grabbed my husband s seldom worn smith engage helmet. The helmet fit very well and it was so much more comfortable than the old helmet i had worn. I. Was so happy with it i decided to buy myself one i found it in while on sierra and got ir. t sees lots of use on my rides and i am very convinced it would save my life if i ever crashed in it.
