1.0 out of 5 stars. Breaking after one use.Reviewed by Snowshoe Steve from Alaska on Friday, January 12, 2024I felt really happy at first using these. My old pair seemed to shift on my feet and occasionally come off in deep snow. These felt secure. Unfortunately when I got done I noticed the decking tearing in the exact same place on both of them. Since neither Tubbs or Sierra stand behind this product 1 star.

5.0 out of 5 stars. better than msr*Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jonny cheap shoes from sierras on Tuesday, March 10, 2020I got these on clearance and I couldn't find a lot of information about this particular model and it seems like it's being discontinued.
I paid about the same for these tubbs snowshoes as cheap no name snowshoes on Amazon.
I've used the plastic msr snowshoes with the detachable tails and these tubbs are better in all the ways that count.
I took these up to round top off hwy 88 by Carson pass. I was out untill 3 and the conditions varied from refrozen, crunchy Sierra cement to slushy afternoon snow in the sun.
I weigh about 190lbs with my pack and I rarely sunk in much on the way uphill.
The msrs have detachable tails for such a situation but the rails cost more than I paid for these snow shoes and they're a hassle to add and subtract.
These tubbs snowshoes walk better for me than the msrs. My wife got the same snowshoes and agreed, even though it's the men's model and she's 40lbs less than me.
These snow shoes lack the heel platform that more expensive models have. I went up all sorts of inclined and didn't miss it. When it gets really steep I mostly used my toes to kick the spikes in and on less of an incline it's just not that big a deal to put my heel down.
The only reason I can imagine they discontinued these is to force you to buy the more expensive ones with the fancy looking holes in the back and the heel lever or settle for the old design with the aluminum pole frame with tarp design from tubbs. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect snowshoes for beginnersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Wisconsin on Monday, February 17, 2020These are the first pair of snowshoes I have ever owned, and they are everything I hoped they'd be! Easy to put on/take off, durable, and comfortable. I did a 10km race a week after purchasing, and I have absolutely no complaints. Great quality and price!
