2.0 out of 5 stars. These are not for moving over rocks/bouldersReviewed by nly10d from Colorado on Sunday, October 29, 2023These shoes would be good for trail walking/running on trails without any scrambling or climbing over rocks/boulders, i.e. flat or simple dirt trails.. The main reason is that the shoe uppers do not hold your foot in place. In general, when you step up or down onto an edge or part of a rock the sole grabs and you find your center of gravity over that spot. On these shoes, however, just when you put your weight over that spot and the shoes begin to grip, the uppers stretch, allowing your foot to move off of the balance point. Whoever designed these shoes did not consider how they would likely be used. I tried them to begin with on a hike with lots of scrambling up and over boulders in the mountains west of Golden, and felt off-balance numerous times. Wish I could return them but they are definitely used. Will make them "easy-only" trail shoes

5.0 out of 5 stars. Best shors everReviewed by David B from New Jersey on Friday, October 27, 2023I do a lot of walking. I bought my first pair at the Sierra retail store. I wore them for a month and then decided to buy another pair. Fortunately the store had one more pair in my size. Great shoes and I will continue to buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Worst Example Ever in 40 yrsReviewed by High Plains Drifter from 8000' Colorado on Friday, August 11, 2023Gave them a shot.. Left unit no arch support / Right unit did. General poor fit and overly squishy sole feel. Were'nt even worthy of tromping around on flat ground. STP and Asolo USA have my e-traffic on these. STP should reject the whole lot - obvious QC issues these Asolo Backbone units. DO NOT BUY.
