Having suffered from several foot injuries during his tennis career, Tim Brennan eventually decided that his conventional athletic shoes were to blame and set about creating his own. By the time he officially launched VivoBarefoot shoes in 2004, Brennan had already spent five years on research and development, which included input from sixth generation shoemaker Galahad Clark. At the time, VivoBarefoot running shoes and tennis shoes were the first minimalist athletic shoes engineered with ultra-thin, puncture-resistant soles designed to offer lightweight shock absorption and sensory feedback. The concept took off, and minimalist footwear has been gaining momentum ever since. Today, VivoBarefoot shoes are available in more than 50 different models, from trail running shoes to chukkas. Has a wider toe box than most vivos. I’m a 39 regularly, but because there are no shoe laces, they are a bit loose, however I have a low volume foot and use thin liner socks. My feet measure 24.5 and 25 cm.

For reference, I’m regularly a 39 (8) in this VivoBarefoot, but that size was too large in this model. I ordered a 38 (a U.S. 7), and lengthwise that fit better, but the overall grip of the shoe was loose, even with an insole. My feet measure 24.5 and 25 cm.
