  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great fit and performace!

I am a novice climber (less than a year of experience) doing mostly top rope gym climbing and bouldering. I typically wear a women's size 37/6.5-7 street shoe, and based on a sizing chart from Evolv, I ordered a pair of the Kronos in 6.5 (39). They are very snug on me -- uncomfortable to walk around in, but not painful. After a few bouldering sessions, they feel so good and secure on my feet. The other pair of climbing shoes I own are women's Scarpa Helix, size 38. In the Scarpa Helix, my toes are ever so slightly curled; in the Evolv Kronos, they are more curled (like you're picking up something with your toes). The toe box on the Kronos is roomier than what I've found on similar style shoes in the Scarpa line. The Scarpas fit a bit larger (and more flat) than the Evolv Kronos, so those will still be the pair I use on longer top rope climbs. The Kronos are great for bouldering; the tighter fit and the sticky rubber feels great on smaller holds and when you get onto overhangs. The rubber extends to the top of the toe box for hooking. The well-padded tongue is so comfortable, and the closure system can be customized to provide a secure fit. I do have to take them off after a few climbs, but that's typical of tight-fitting climbing shoes. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, especially with the price at Sierra.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great but just a little tight!

I’ll start off by saying I’m new to rock climbing! I’m in between a 6.5 and 7 in women’s sizes, so I ordered a 7 because I read elsewhere online that these were tight. I probably should have ordered a 7.5. They’re not unusable, but I really do have to cram my foot in there and the first time I used them my toes were very sore. After a couple more wears they’ve definitely started stretching out and there’s still a little bit of pain but nothing awful. I will say that as a beginner that these shoes are good for everything I’ve tried to do and I’ve had absolutely no issue otherwise. As soon as they stretch out a little more I am sure I’ll love them!
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Sizing Issues

The product that I ordered was a size 5 climbing shoe that I incorrectly assumed was in Men's sizes. The shoe that I was delivered was indeed a size 5, but it was a women's size 5 shoe. Be careful when ordering to ensure that when the shoe says Men/ Women, you know which sizing scale to expect.

The shoes were otherwise beautiful, brand new, and built for moderate climbing. If they had been the correct size I would have kept them!
