Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.

I always take an XL (14/16) in most all clothing. But this jacket was not only tight in the shoulders, but about a good two inches too narrow around the hip/waist... I couldn't even zip it up! I would probably need a 2X in this one! Doesn't come larger that XL... What about women with curves, Marmot???

I just set it up in my living room but have not used it yet. However, I’ve camped and backpacked my whole life and this seems comparable in quality to other middle price range backpacking tents. There’s the two standard pockets and a ceiling hook, but really, what else do you need. The netting, seams and zippers are all high quality and no imperfections. It will sleep my family of 3 with three standard size camping pads. It would definitely not fit three oversize pads. The vestibule Under the 2 rain flys is large enough to put gear that you want to keep out of the tent but protected.

Great tentReviewed by bmart4 from California on Wednesday, July 10, 2024I'm replacing older gear and wanted a tent that I can put up myself with enough room for me and my gear inside. This seems spacious from the inside and is very easy to assemble and take down. I love that it includes a footprint and the tent floor is thick and reinforced well. There's a privacy barrier along the bottom third of the tent so you can leave the top off or leave the vestibules up while sleeping and won't be visible. I think the quality of this tent is fantastic and it's so compact when packed up which I love.
