The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Hard to Run InReviewed by Angry Butterfly from California on Tuesday, July 9, 2024I had the older version of these for dog walking shoes and boy do I HATE the new ones. I threw out the old ones because I’d worn all the way through the sole, but I wish I had kept them for comparison because of how awful these are. Merrell apparently decided to join in on the stupid dangerous trend where they put a bunch of extra foam on the back of the heel. I noticed that my 70 something dad had shoes with that stupid feature and it was making it hard for him to go down stairs, what I didn’t expect is for them to throw off the balance of my 40- something, fixie riding, surfing, skateboarding, self! I walked less than a mile in them, because FORGET trying to run in them, and got pain in my knee that immediately stopped when I took them off! It’s easier to balance in 3 inch platforms! WHICH I ALSO WEAR. Utter failure.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Light, comfy, need to be waterproofedReviewed by AdkSarah from Adirondacks on Sunday, June 23, 2024I have had them a few months. I like them enough. The only thing is when I walk through wet grass after a rain my feet/socks get really damp in a way my previous Merrell trail runners didn’t (they don’t make them anymore which is why I tried these) I still keep an eye out for my previous ones but these are fine for now.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointingly Short LifespanReviewed by Hillary from IN on Tuesday, June 18, 2024I'm pretty frustrated about these sandals. I work at a school, so I expect to be on my feet a lot inside and outside. I bought these as a faithful Merrell customer. At first, they were great-comfy, supportive, cute. It didn't take long before my arches no longer felt supported, and the straps were visibly wearing on the sides. I hadn't done anything crazy- one weekend camping trip and 1.5 months working with kids, and now both soles have a huge crack going across the balls of my feet. I wore a pair of chaos for 5+ years before the sole started to wear and separate. I spend a lot of time searching for and investing in good quality shoes that will last a long time. I can't afford to replace shoes like this. These might seem like a good price, but you get what you pay for.
